HR MacMillan Space Centre Museum and Planetarium

One of Vancouver's best-known attractions, the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is part space and science museum, part planetarium, and part observatory. The Space Centre is basically comprised of three areas: a small museum portion, called the Cosmic Courtyard, which includes interactive displays, a moon rock sample you can touch, and science exhibits, the educational theatre GroundStation Canada and the planetarium.

The impressive crab sculpture at the entrance to the Space Centre was created by George Norris. Beneath the plaque in the foreground is a time capsule to be opened on Canada's Bicentennial in 2067

Located next to the Space Centre, the Gordon MacMillan Southam Observatory features a ½-metre Cassegrain telescope to explore the skies around Vancouver. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff and volunteers will guide your exploration and answer your questions.

Location:Vanier Park, Vancouver BC
